And then I was thinking about adding the cough because when I, when I was at grocery stores and stuff like that during COVID you hear someone cough it's like, it's like, everyone looks. So it kind of like amplified that feeling of just a sound associated with COVID. Before COVID You hear someone sneeze or cough? Oh, bless you and no one thinks that now it's, it's like, well, not this right now. But when the period of time I'm talking about that. It was more so just like- I guess walking away with my perspective. It's not the most common because I feel like a lot of my Black friends that I talked to were very apprehensive about the vaccine, whereas like I was one of the people that was like, I can get it? I'm getting it. Because I just wanted to see my family again, because I had separated from them when I moved out here and I didn't want to bring any germs to my father because he's a Black man in his 50s and he was at risk and so I was just like taking my space from them until I was fully vaccinated. Me and my only friend up here, my part of Vermont, we would hang out twice a week, always wearing masks and always in public because she was working in the schools. And I was just really afraid of COVID exposure. So going to the skating rink was something we did a lot in the springtime like wearing masks, socially distant skating, and it became kind of like just one of our spots during this confusing time of social distancing. So it felt like an appropriate place to- like that's where we had that conversation. And it felt appropriate because we were only skating and out there because of COVID because we couldn't hang out in each other's houses or do something else. So we spent a lot of time just like doing- going for walks and spending time at the skating rink, wearing masks, social distanced, kind of just afraid. So it felt like relief when she told me that.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://clemmonsfamilyfarminc.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1995/collection_resources/75270/file/165086#t=123.0,184.0"},{"id":"https://clemmonsfamilyfarminc.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1995/collection_resources/75270/file/165086/transcript/39333/annotation/5","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"I wanted to address the beginning, the middle and the end. And then I was like Nah, let me mix it up and I went with skating rink so it's kind of like the locations like skating rink sitting on a chair and then a celebration like what happens, the end result is a celebration. We went to Puerto Rico in August and it was the first trip I had been on in two years like since COVID started, and it was actually really nice because it felt- like we were very cautious wearing masks and stuff but just being on a vacation felt like COVID was- there's a light at the end of the tunnel. You know what I mean? And we were only really like comfortable going because the adults in the family had gotten vaccinated by then. And now that everyone's vaccinated and it's a little bit less stressful- it was honestly more me than them. My father is pretty relaxed, but I just didn't want to be the person to, I'm just more concerned with his health. You know what I mean? So, I, yeah, I'm gonna see them in July.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://clemmonsfamilyfarminc.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1995/collection_resources/75270/file/165086#t=184.0,249.0"},{"id":"https://clemmonsfamilyfarminc.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1995/collection_resources/75270/file/165086/transcript/39333/annotation/6","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"So when I was doing this project, writing the poem, I was looking at, I wanted to look up the different phases because I was trying to remember what age group was with the African American phase where it was like, Oh, I think it was like ages 40 or 50 or something with African Americans. And I was looking it up, and then while I was looking it up I found statistics, and I didn't honestly give them an honest review of checking the sources. But I saw things that said something along the lines of like, only 2% of Vermonters are Black. And of that 2%, only 4% got their COVID vaccine. And I don't know if that was actually a recent or old statistic but even just seeing single digits like that, about the percentage of Black Vermonters that got the vaccine, I was like oh my goodness, I didn't realize it was that low. Even if it was higher even if it is say even like, let's go with 50%. It's like, I just kind of assumed, but I shouldn't have assumed, but it was just alarming to realize, Oh yeah, a large percentage of Vermonters that are Black probably haven't gotten the vaccine. So that was eye opening just from someone who is vaccinated. And who has a circle of friends that are mostly vaccinated.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://clemmonsfamilyfarminc.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1995/collection_resources/75270/file/165086#t=249.0,326.0"},{"id":"https://clemmonsfamilyfarminc.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1995/collection_resources/75270/file/165086/transcript/39333/annotation/7","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"My neck of the woods is not, it's one of the- we probably have the smallest population of Black people in my specific town so I don't even really get to interact with Black people on a regular basis.
